The Mirage Quartet
have been playing together since 1994 and are gaining a fine reputation
throughout Yorkshire, where they are based. All four are members of the
orchestra of Opera North, the English Northern Philharmonia, and have
studied at the best conservatoires in Britain. Their
versatile experience as players not only encompasses the classical and
popular worlds, but they are also in great demand as teachers, chamber
musicians and as soloists. Between them, the quartet have played in the
best orchestras in Britain, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the
Philharmonia, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the City of Birmingham
Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Symphony Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra,
BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, the
Halle, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and numerous others. They have played
to great acclaim at many prestigious venues throughout Yorkshire,
including the official opening of Harvey Nichols, alongside the singer,
KD Lang, and the official opening of the Lowry Theatre,
Manchester, in the presence of Her Majesty the Queen. The
quartet also do some of their own arranging for functions when
requested, and are continually expanding their repertoire of classical
and light music for all tastes. Selection
