Laurelin String Quartet
was formed in Glasgow in 1995 by students then at the RSAMD.
The young founder members have each gone on to have
their own flourishing professional playing careers and have between them
played with every professional orchestra in Scotland; with touring
London shows such as Phantom of the Opera; and with live shows,
recording sessions and videos for famous artists as diverse as top
singer Michael Ball and Brit Award Winners 'Belle and Sebastion'.
The original quartet are still based in
Glasgow, and now due to increasing demand bookings ‘south of the
border’ subsidiary groups have been formed in Glasgow, Leeds and
London. The result is "Laurelin Strings".
Laurelin Strings have performed at
prestigious venues all over the UK.
Recent engagements have included BBC Music Live at the
Glasgow Royal Concert Hall; Holyrood Palace, Edinburgh
before HRH Prince Edward; the Premier of Gordon McPherson 3rd String
Quartet at the Salisbury Festival; recitals at St. Martin in the
