An exciting new ensemble of Young Professionals, the Ardeton Quartet was formed in 2001 by former postgraduates of the Birmingham Conservatoire, and current postgraduates of the Welsh College of Music and Drama. Receiving coaching through the Welsh College of Music and Drama's Chamber Music Programme, they have been instructed by experienced players including Penny Driver, Graham Oppenheimer (Shidlof Quartet), and International Violist Lars Anders Tomter.
The Ardeton String Quartet already has a number of successful performances behind it, including an appearance in a lunchtime concert at the WCMD's Weston Gallery, and a Sunday Morning Coffee concert at the National Museum and Art Gallery of Wales.
Its innovation and success has largely been attributed to the diverse backgrounds of its members.
