Pianist Emma Scammell

Emma Scammell is an established and versatile pianist with over fifteen years performing experience.  Her professional demeanor, musical sensitivity and extensive repertoire combine to create the perfect atmosphere for every occasion. 

Biography

Emma began playing the piano at the age of four.  At twelve she gave her concerto debut playing the Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 1, which was broadcast from the Hexagon, Reading.  Two years later she was a South East finalist in the BBC Young Musician of the Year and Audi Junior Musician competitions.
In 1991, Emma was awarded a place at the Royal College of Music where she studied piano with Peter Element.  Whilst at college, Emma gave numerous successful performances as both solo and ensemble player and was a prize winner in the prestigious Cyril Smith Concerto Competition.  Emma graduated with a Bachelor of Music honours degree and the Diploma of the Royal College of Music.
Emma has since established herself as a freelance pianist and has provided background music for private and corporate functions at venues such as Wentworth Golf Club, Virginia Water and the Basil Hotel. Knightsbridge.  She also performs regularly throughout London and the South East of England, with recent recital venues including St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Trafalgar Square and St. James’s Church, Piccadilly.
 

Repertoire

Emma has a wide repertoire of music to suit every occasion, ranging from light classical to the popular jazz standards of Gershwin and Cole Porter.  She can adapt her program to cater for your individual requirements. 

Solo or Duo

If you prefer, Emma is able to perform as part of an instrumental duo.  Flute, Oboe or Cello and Piano ensembles are currently available.
