Jazz Sounds are dedicated to providing top-class accessible jazz. Whether playing with amplification or purely acoustically, we deliver a professional performance of high-quality background music, creating the perfect ambiance for your party or function. We can expand to add vocals, drums, saxophone etc. as required, to suit specific occasions. 

Simon Lasky MA, BA Hons [piano] prides himself in his versatility as a musician. His jazz piano playing has seen him performing at some of the top venues in the country, including The Savoy, The Waldorf and Claridges' Hotel (where he is currently the resident pianist) as well as on various cruise ships around the globe. He is also an active composer and conductor for which he received 3 top awards at University and Music College. Recently he conducted the World Premiere of his composition, Fanfare for Brass & Percussion, in the Barbican Hall, London. Simon has been a professional musician for 5 years now since graduating with a First Class degree from The University of Bristol. 

Tony Hawkins BA Hons (trumpet/flugel horn) has been playing professionally for a number of years. His musical career was helped by winning the regional finals of the BBC Young Musician of the Year in 1989. After four years at music college (where he won the Mixed Ensembles Competition and Brass Competition twice!), in 1995 he left to sail the seas, playing aboard several prestigious cruise ships, in the show bands. Having returned to dry land, he co-founded 'Jazz Sounds' with pianist and fellow seaman Simon Lask. 

Gavin Scott (double bass) has been enjoying a glittering musical career for the past 20 years. Having studied jazz on a Scholarship at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in America, he has travelled extensively, playing in the showband aboard the QEII, played in some of the worlds most exclusive hotels (including the Savoy, The Dorchester and Claridges), performed in numerous West End theatre productions, and has many television appearances to his credit. More recently he has been touring with top Abba tribute band, 'Bjorn Again'
