Irish Folk / Ceilidh / Barndance Band Formed to provide
the music for Doug Hudson’s stage show, The Hot Rats contain some of the
best musicians in the south of England. Their driving folk rhythms feature
virtuoso fiddle player Ian Cutler who provided the music for the cult film
‘The Wicker Man’ and has played with superstar band ‘Fairport
Convention’. Saxophone, flute and didgeridoo is
played by the young Tony Rico whose ‘Snakecharmer’ with the band Carpe
Diem was number one in the French charts for seven consecutive weeks. Mike
Peters slap and rhythmic bass style is the root around which the band’s
music is built and he also provides harmony vocals. Doug Hudson himself
fronts the band with acoustic guitar and writes the original songs, The
Hot Rats have amassed a cult following in their native county of Kent and
with their driving jigs and reels, powerful songs and flamboyant playing
they are one of the ‘hottest’ bands around! If you would like a written quote, click here.
