The Regondi Guitar Duo

Simon Davies & Nicholas Lee

Simon Davies and Nicholas Lee started playing together in 1992 whilst studying classical guitar at the Royal Northern College of Music. Between them they have had lessons and masterclasses with some of the top names in the guitar and music world including John Williams, Gordon Crooskey, Anthony Rooley (early music specialist), Juan Martin (flamenco guitarist) and Stephen Dodgson (Composer).

As a duo, they have performed for weddings, functions and concert performances throughout the country, including the following venues: 

 And have recorded for the Telstar Records CD release “Guitar Serenade”.  They have also performed in orchestral works conducted by Yan Pascal Tortelier and Marcus Stenz.

 Simon Davies studied at the Royal College of Music and the Royal Academy of Music before the RNCM.  In his teens he won several music competitions including the Chiltern Radio Young Musician of the Year and performed widely culminating in him being the representative for the UK in the European Young Musicians Concert in Brussels.  Simon is also an a successful jazz/classical guitar duo with the Sardinian jazz guitarist Giorgio Serci and in 2001 released their debut CD. He has an honours degree from the RNCM and is guitar tutor at the Spanish Guitar Centre.

 Since graduating from the RNCM with a degree in music, Nicholas Lee has combined a busy performing and teaching career.  He plays regularly for the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon and also works with other combinations of instruments including a flute and guitar duo and also has much experience of accompanying singers.  He has performed as a soloist across the UK and has played in some of the country’s top concert halls.

 The Regondi Guitar Duo draws on an ever-expanding repertoire which includes selections of Classical, Jazz, Spanish, Flamenco and Popular music.

Wedding Performances

  At The Service or Ceremony

 Option 1

•  To play as guests arrive -  This provides a calm welcoming atmosphere.

•  To play as bride enters the room or church.

•  To play during the ceremony or service, whilst register is being signed.

 Option 2

•  To play whilst guests are arriving at the reception.

•  To play during the meal – This provides a subtle, relaxing background entertainment without stifling conversation.

 Option 3

•  Both of the above.
